Lies Parents Tell Their Kids
When I was a child, my parents often told 'white lies' to my brother and I. For example, on Christmas Eve my dad would say, "If you do not fall asleep quickly, Santa might skip our house and you won't get any gifts." Looking back, I can see the purpose for this lie was to convince my brother and I to fall asleep quickly (I can image my parents enjoying an eggnog in peace and quiet). This lie was not meant to be harmful and many parents use it as a parenting tool, yet does this make it socially acceptable to lie to children?

-When you are a parent, will you tell white lies to your children?

Part Three:
Read your classmate's posts. Comment on two different posts and discuss whether you agree or disagree with their opinions. Please be nice and make sure each classmate gets at least one post. Start a discussion!
